Welcome To Our "Success Stories" Page!

The horses on this page sold at Billings Livestock Commission Company and we couldn't be prouder!  A good "fit" is important between horse and rider - we work hard to provide the sale venue that allows the sellers to show their horses and a place where the buyers can feel comfortable buying a horse.  The following "Success Stories" are a tribute to both the buyers and sellers! Do you have a success story? We want to hear from you - Achievements and success stories about the horses and the people who bought them here at Billings Livestock! I'm waiting to hear YOUR story!

At BLS, "We like horses".

PAR PIZZAZ - consigned by the Dodge's in Twin Bridges, MT this fellow runs barrels, poles, rope off him, do it all - packed the flag in parades and was a great "Queen" horse!  He's still doing all of that, but now belongs to the Moulette's of St. Xavier, MT! Do you have a success story? We want to hear from you - Achievements and success stories about the horses and the people who bought them here at Billings Livestock! I'm waiting to hear YOUR story! At BLS, "We like horses".

WAR LEO WHAT - a 92 AQHA Sorrel gelding x Doctor What consigned by T.R. Green, Ruidoso Downs, NM and purchased by Jann Parker, Huntley, MT.  This fellow had been used as a high school rodeo cutter - had no NCHA money - and with the capable assistance of John L. Dublin, Red Lodge, MT, he now has over $3,000 in earnings, his COA, won the MCHA $2,000 Rider for 2001, and the Area 4 $2,000 rider!  All in 16 months time - and all in Montana!

She's a good one and bred to be that way - PISTOL POPPIN PLAYGIRL - a 96 APHA Gray mare by Smart Little Pistol and out of a daughter of Freckles Playboy that's out of a daughter of Dry Doc! WOW! Consigned by John H. Johnson, Brookings, SD to our "New Year's Special Catalog Sale" on December 30, 2000 - she was purchased by Sharon Meister, Bozeman, MT. The extra-nice mare has been in the capable hands of trainer Patrick Severance of Whitehall, MT and...after four months on cattle placed 3rd in Open Hackamore reined cowhorse competition in Philipsburg, MT and WON the Open Hackamore reined cowhorse competition in Twin Bridges! She's a great little horse and we are proud she came from Billings Livestock! Congratulations, Pistol Poppin Playgirl, Sharon, and Patrick! Go get 'em!

Way to go, Anna Haaland and "Moonlight Roman" aka "Smokey"! The Billings, MT cowgirl and her 95 AQHA Gray gelding have earned the 2001 Year-End High Point O-Mok-See, in addition to winning the saddle (she's using it in this photo!) at the National O-Mok-See! This year, Anna and Smokey are top contenders for the All-Around title at the Young Rider Series where Anna uses Smokey in the barrels, poles, and goats. Purchased at Billings Livestock in October 2000, the nice gray gelding was consigned by Gary and Betty Knight. Photo courtesy of Vickie MacCarty.

What a match up! One of the region's toughest competitors and a heck of a horse hand - Gary Woodworth, Shepherd, MT and "Jets Smoke and Fire" a 96 APHA Bay Gelding purchased at Billings Livestock's February 2001 Sale event. Gary and "Ace" are pictured here winning second at the 2001 Montana Fair Rodeo in Billings - they have accumulated over $7,100 in calf roping earnings this year - and NEVER left Montana! Gary has won a check on this horse every time he has backed in the box - except twice! (And according to Gary, that wasn't the horse's fault, he just missed!) The Smart Little Lena, Mr. Gunsmoke, and Leo bred gelding has qualified in the top five for both the NRA Finals and PRCA Montana Summer Circuit Finals! Gary says the horse is a natural - he's never made a mistake! Congratulations and go get 'em - we are betting on you! Rodney Vance photo.

Here's "Squires Montana Ima Honey" who was purchased at our annual "Mini and Pony Sale" on August 26, 2001. Purchased by Debbie Yates, The Dalles, OR, this good-colored little tyke won the blue ribbon - 1st place in halter mares 2 year-old-and younger - ONLY 3 weeks after Debbie bought her! Congratulations! Do you have a success story? We want to hear from you - Achievements and success stories about the horses and the people who bought them here at Billings Livestock! "Jigger" is a heck of a guy - he's won nearly $30,000, 3 saddles, 10 buckles, qualified for the USTRC finals twice - and all in two years time- and the proof positive on the mix of "age and experience" and a poster-boy for "Legends"! He's the head horse in the photo - he's 17 years old - and the veteran rope horse was consigned by those ropey "Watson boys" from Box Elder, Mt and purchased by Delon Parker, Gillette, WY, at BLS's annual Rope Horse Sale in 1999. Congratulations! Do you have a success story? We want to hear from you - Achievements and success stories about the horses and the people who bought them here at Billings Livestock! CONGRATULATIONS, Charlie Lenning and SQ Leo Last Dust! He's a coming six year old AQHA Gelding purchased at Billings Livestock in July of 1999 as a two-year-old. The nice gelding was raised and consigned by Janice Hunter, Castor, Alberta. He's by Peppys Big Cougar and out of a Leo Bar bred dam. Charlie is pictured here at the MTRA Finals in September. With limited hauling, this duo has earned over $4,000! Wendy Small, Pompeys Pillar, MT gets the credit for breaking him to ride! Do you have a success story?
